Preamble
This Cookie Policy (the “Cookie Policy”) describes how Cuverse Technologies Limited (“Cuverse Technologies” or “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website cuverse.com (the “Site”) and in the Cuverse mobile applications.
This Cookie Policy forms an integral part of the Cuverse Privacy Policy and the Cuverse Technologies Platform Terms of Use.
§ 1. What Are Cookies
(1) Definition. A cookie is a small text file which a website saves in the browser or on the device of the User upon a visit to the website. Cookies allow the website to “remember” the actions and preferences of the User over a certain period of time.
(2) Similar Technologies. In this Cookie Policy, the term “cookies” also covers similar technologies:
- Local Storage — a browser mechanism for storing data on the device of the User;
- Session Storage — temporary browser storage operating within a single session;
- Web Beacons / Pixel Tags — invisible elements on a web page used for the tracking of activity;
- SDK Identifiers — identifiers used in mobile applications for analogous purposes.
(3) First-Party vs Third-Party Cookies.
- First-party cookies — set directly by Cuverse Technologies upon a visit to the Site;
- Third-party cookies — set by third parties (for example, analytics services or advertising networks) whose scripts are loaded on the Site.
§ 2. Categories of Cookies Used
(1) Essential Cookies (strictly necessary). Cookies without which the Site cannot function correctly:
- authentication and session cookies;
- security cookies (protection against CSRF attacks, detection of suspicious activity);
- cookies for the operation of the order cart and checkout;
- cookies for recording consent to the use of cookies.
Essential cookies are set automatically and do not require the User’s consent in accordance with applicable law.
(2) Functional Cookies. Cookies that improve the user experience:
- recording of language preferences (EN, RU, DE, ES, IT);
- recording of regional settings;
- saving of interface preferences;
- recording of recently viewed products.
Functional cookies are set with the User’s consent.
(3) Analytics Cookies. Cookies for understanding the User’s interaction with the Site:
- counting of visits and measurement of traffic;
- tracking of popular pages and user paths;
- analysis of time spent on pages;
- measurement of the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
Analytics cookies are set through integrated services and are set only with the User’s consent.
(4) Marketing Cookies. Cookies for the display of relevant advertising and the measurement of effectiveness:
- retargeting cookies;
- cookies for the measurement of conversions of advertising campaigns;
- cookies set by advertising networks.
Marketing cookies are set only with the User’s consent and may be disabled at any time.
§ 3. Cookie Consent
(1) Cookie Banner. On the User’s first visit to the Site, the User is shown a banner with information on the use of cookies and the ability to manage their preferences. The User is entitled to:
- accept all cookies;
- reject all non-essential cookies (essential cookies remain in any event);
- configure their preferences by category of cookies.
(2) Withdrawal of Consent. The User is entitled at any time to amend their cookie settings through the “Cookie Settings” section in the footer of the Site or through the settings of their browser.
(3) Granular Consent. Consent to the use of cookies is granular: the User may consent to particular categories of cookies and refuse others.
(4) Implied Consent Excluded. Cuverse Technologies does not use an implied consent mechanism. Consent must be express and active.
§ 4. Third-Party Cookies and Services
The Site may load scripts and cookies from the following categories of third parties:
(1) Analytics Providers. Web traffic and user behaviour analytics services. Such services may include providers operating in different jurisdictions (in particular, providers based in the United States and providers offering localised analytics).
(2) Marketing Providers. Advertising and retargeting platforms. These services support the display of relevant advertising and the measurement of the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
(3) KYC and Payment Providers. The Site is integrated with KYC providers and payment providers. The User’s use of functions associated with such providers may result in the setting of their own cookies on the User’s device, in accordance with their own policies.
(4) Customer Support Tools. The Site may use embedded services for online chat and customer support.
The current list of specific third-party providers in each of the categories above is available on request through the contact channels in § 9, and is also referenced in the Cuverse Privacy Policy.
§ 5. Cookie Storage Duration
(1) Session Cookies. Deleted automatically following the closure of the browser.
(2) Persistent Cookies. Stored on the User’s device for a defined period (from a number of days to a number of years, depending on the purpose of the cookie).
The specific storage durations of individual cookies are set out in the detailed list of cookies available through the “Cookie Settings” section on the Site.
§ 6. How to Manage Cookies
(1) Through Cookie Settings on the Site. The User may manage cookies through the “Cookie Settings” section in the footer of the Site.
(2) Through Browser Settings. Most modern browsers allow the User to control cookies through the browser settings. The User may:
- view installed cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block cookies from particular sites;
- block all third-party cookies;
- receive notifications upon the installation of new cookies.
Instructions for managing cookies in popular browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge and others) are available in the help section or settings of the relevant browser. The User may consult the official support resources of the browser provider for the current procedure.
(3) Through Mobile Device Settings. In the Cuverse mobile applications, analogous functions may be managed through the privacy settings of iOS or Android.
(4) Effect of Disabling Cookies. The disabling of essential cookies will result in the inability to use the principal functions of the Site. The disabling of functional, analytics or marketing cookies will not affect the principal functions, but may impair the user experience.
§ 7. Children
The Site is not intended for use by persons under 18 years of age. Cuverse Technologies does not knowingly collect cookies or other data of minors.
§ 8. Updates to This Cookie Policy
Cuverse Technologies reserves the right to update this Cookie Policy unilaterally. Material changes are notified to Users through a notice on the Site or in the mobile applications.
